Project Management
In 2009, Essential Networks Group migrated our customised planning tools and techniques for infrastructure projects and brought them under the PRINCE2TM. framework. We chose to do this because an increasing number of our customers had established PMOs built around this method, and we believe the method is scalable, comprehensive, provides certification for practitioners and can be independently audited.
Customer Requirement
Ensure an infrastructure project is implemented in accordance with the project objectives, to an agreed quality standard, on time and to budget.
Service Description
Work with the customer to define the terms of reference which forms the Project Mandate. We will assist the customer to establish the Project Organisation and we will undertake the project management in accordance with PRINCE2TM. process model:
- Starting up a Project;
- Directing a Project;
- Initiating a Project
- Managing a Stage Boundary;
- Controlling a Stage;
- Managing Product Delivery, and
- Closing a Project.
Essential Networks Group will only use PRINCE2TM. Certified Practitioners for these types of assignments.
Customer Benefit
- The project will be delivered in accordance with PRINCE2 process model;
- The themes of business justification, organisation, quality, plans, risk, change and progress are all comprehensively addressed by the method;
- The method can be audited by independent third-parties if necessary.
Post-Implementation Review
Customer Requirement
Undertake an audit of the project management of a given project by engaging an independent assessment from a suitably experienced third-party, not involved in the original project. Assess whether the business benefits of a given project have bee realised.
Service Description
Define the terms of reference for the assignment with the project sponsor, including a full review of all project documentation. Involve key project participants - this may be done through an open forum such as a facilitated workshop. Assess the outcome of the project in terms of the original objectives and project plan. Undertake a health check of the project against PRINCE2TM criteria. Prepare findings and submit the report to the project board.
